The Stash: China Glaze

China Glaze was my first non drugstore brand.  My first purchases were Ahoy, Starboard, and First Mate from the Spring 2011 collection: Anchors Away.  I can't remember which one I used first, but I've been a fan of China Glaze since.  I also think China Glaze has the most diverse selection of finishes including holos, flakies, and duochromes.  I'm looking forward to their new Hologlam collection!

I honestly can't pick any favorites from my stash.  I love them all, but I do fuss over my OMG holos a bit more. ^^

Do you remember your first CG?  Which shades are your favorites?  Let me know in the comments!  I'd love to hear. :)

  2. Amazing collection!! My first were from the 2010 holiday collection, and I won them from Varnish Vixen... I think her site is gone now. I think Phat Santa was the first shade I wore. It's still on of my top red picks.

  4. My first China Glaze nail polish was "Full Spectrum". I love the many special kinds of finish they have.

  5. I really like ChG as well too. It was a brand I used in the 80's along with CND before OPI can into being. I think back to how long and how many bottles I have had go through my stash when I read posts like yours saying your first bottles were from the Ahoy collection - certainly a great collection (thou I never figured out how come ChG did not release that collection through Sally's at first - was not in Sally's for a good 9 months and then went into the classic wall all but for 1 out of the total collection). I think for the $ especially, ChG is a great polish product. I can only remember the color not the name of my first ChG..but it was kind of an soft terra cotta shade that was super popular in the 80s...that and a cream in a dusty rose shade, and I am sure I picked up some red as I have been a red fan forever.

  11. Wow! I didn't know CG was around in the 80s. I'm so jealous! I'm always kicking myself for entering the nail polish scene so late. There were a lot of good stuff in the past!

  12. I love For Audrey! Once I got into China Glaze, that was one of the first few colors I picked up from Sallys. :)

  15. China Glaze is definitely my favourite brand! Number 1 on my list to get was For Audrey (surprise ;p), and then I saw Aquadelic sitting right next to it. I was standing there, holding them both and debating, and poor Husband just wailed, "Aaugh, just get them both, or we're never gonna get outta here!" And he wonders now why I like polish shopping better when he's there. :P

  16. Haha, aw. You're husband sounds like a winner. :P I actually had that same debate over those two colors. I already had For Audrey, so I wasn't sure if I needed Aquadelic. It was the day I hauled a whole bunch of polish, and the bf was with me. He was very patient, so I felt kind of bad. ^^;

  18. My very first bottle of China Glaze was Flying Dragon (neon). I do love their polishes and am currently lusting after the Cirque du Soleil Collection, but darn Cult Nails had to offer that preorder special, and and the darn Convert packs, so I can't buy anymore polish just yet. :-)
