Love, beauty, peach, and cocoa

It's almost the weekend! :)

While I was at Forever21, I picked up two polishes in peach and cocoa.  I mostly bought them for the bottles, because who doesn't love leopard prints?  I wish Love & Beauty would change their polish bottles to this, because I would buy them all.

This one is called Georgia Peach.  Love & Beauty doesn't really name their polishes.  Instead they give them rather ordinary color labels, that may or may not be accurate.  This one was really an orange in disguise.  It's kind of sheer, I'm wearing four coats here to cover my VNL.  If you don't have long nails, 2 coats should be fine.  It has a lot of fine silver and peach glitter.  The silver glitter reminds me of the metallic gel pens I used to use in middle school.  It's also hard to remove if you're using normal nail polish remover.  The polish comes off in gluey clumps and the glitter gets everywhere, giving you the Edward Cullen syndrome.  I didn't like this one because of removal, and the orange wasn't flattering for my skin tone.

This is two coats of Warm Cocoa.  This is my first time trying Love & Beauty, so the peach gave me a rather disappointing first impression of this nail line.  However, Warm Cocoa was able to redeem it.  The formula was good and the color is so rich and delicious.  I would say this color is a perfect representation of a warm cup of cocoa.  The finish was smooth and shiny, and the shimmer subtle.  Yum.

You can buy these at Forever21 (in store or online) for $2.80 each.

As you can see I've been playing around with the watermark.  I don't think anyone would steal my pictures at this point in my blogging career, but I like doing it. :P  So you'll see those on my pictures from now on. :)

Also there are a few giveaways going on if you want to check those out.  Here are the links:

Nicole by OPI - Make a Comet-ment

Here's a quick post before I leave for class.

This is Nicole by OPI's Make a Comet-ment (a silver holo glitter) over Sinful Colors What's Your Name (a black with teal micro glitter).

Hm... I see why people don't include thumbs in their pics.  They look fat and ugly. -_-

And because I couldn't leave it alone, I did Erika from Chloe's Nails 's diagonal tape mani.

Enjoy your Tuesday! :)

China Glaze Techno Teal

I was a bit hesitant with the Tronica collection.  It looked like the collection was getting a bad rep for not being holo enough, but alas I couldn't let a limited collection get away.  So I scurried over to Sally's to get Hyper Haute and Techno Teal.  Unfortunately, Sally only had one measly display with half the colors gone by the time I got there.  I managed to get the last Techno Teal, but couldn't get a hold of Hyper Haute.

The holo is very subtle.  In fact, I was a little worried when I didn't see any holo in the bottle as I was walking out with it.  It is there on the nail, but just barely.  However, the color is this beautiful shimmery teal.  I used two coats for these.  There was some drag, but if you can get through the first coat patiently, the second one will make it nice and even.

 Do you see the holo?

This is closest in color.  My hands aren't really that pink, I just darkened the pic to get the right teal.

Also, Renee from You Nailed It! is holding a giveaway for her blog's one year anniversary.  The winner will receive a surprise Deborah Lippmann polish.  Be sure to check out her blog by clicking on the link.  You won't regret it. :)

Milani 3D Holographic in 3D

Hope everyone's Monday is going as well as mine.  I think the most exciting part of today so far was opening my email to find out I won Body & Soul's Essie Night Cap giveaway.  I'll definitely be posting swatches of those when it gets here.  If you haven't checked out her blog yet, be sure to do that by clicking the link.  It's pretty awesome. ;)

Well, here it is! My first nail post :)  I'm sure a lot of people have blogged about this, but I had to show you how pretty 3D is.  It doesn't seem like there are that many gold holographic polishes, so I snatched this one up at my local CVS.  I believe it was around 5 dollars.  The formula is nice and this covers well.  These were all two coats and there wasn't any drag, which can be a problem with holographic polishes.

 Click these for holographic yummy-ness.

Sorry about the differently shaped nails.  I just cut my nails according to the nail bed (bad idea) and it gave me three oval and two square nails.  Currently I'm trying to grow them out a little more before I file them all into a squoval.  Which nail shape do you prefer?

China Glaze Island Escape

Temptalia just put out  swatches from this collection! I must have 108 degrees and Seniorita Bonita. They're gorgeous!  I think I'll also pick up Papaya Punch, Electric Pineapple, and  maybe Blue Iguana (depending on how prominent the pinkish purple flecks are on that one.)

Go check them out at: Temptalia Swatches of China Glaze Island Escape

I've been swatching but didn't bring my connector cable home with me, so I'll be uploading those next week when I'm back at school.  Be sure to drop by.  :)

Starting a nail blog!

Having cultivated a recent polish addiction, I've decided to start a nail blog of my own since I religiously follow several already.  I don't know if people will tune into this blog, but I am excited about starting this to share the polishes I come across (as there will be many) with all of you.  As of yet my collection is just beginning to grow (and on a tight budget) but I will be doing my best to represent and review my polishes.  Well that's it for my first entry!

No pictures yet, but in case you're wondering, I'm wearing Ahoy! by China Glaze right now and it's gorgeous. ;)
