[Review+Swatch] China Glaze Apocalypse of Colour Collection for Halloween 2014

Hi! I have another Halloween collection for you today. This one's from China Glaze and is ominously named the Apocolypse of Colour - enjoy! :)

[Review+Swatch] Sally Hansen Halloween 2014 Big Glitter Top Coats

Hi guys! Halloween is coming up in a few days! To be honest, I'm not a fan of Halloween and the whole blood/gore/horror genre. But I do love seeing everyone's Halloween manis. If you're looking for simple, quick fix for your Halloween mani, check out these two glitters from Sally Hansen. :]

Costume Glitters, 1 coat over OPI Cinnamon: silver and silver holographic glitter top coat. The formula was great - easy to apply with good glitter payoff. My light box always cancels out the holo effect, but you can see the holo squares and hexes in the bottle. :)

Dressed To Thrill, 1 coat over OPI Sleigh Parking Only: gold and holographic glitter top coat. I can't tell if the squares are gold too, but it looks silver in my pictures. This is like the gold version of Costume Glitters, and applies just as well. It's so sparkly in real life!

Verdict: They're simple and easy glitter mixes that work over any color. It's a great way to glam up your mani, and not just for Halloween!

Availability: Sally Hansen nail polishes are available at most mass retailers. Click here for a specific list of stores.

[Review+Swatch] OPI Peanuts Collection for Halloween 2014

Hi! I have a quick review of OPI's Halloween collection for you today. This year's collection is inspired by the Peanuts! Who doesn't love Peanuts? Plus, I couldn't wait to try the glitters. :)

Good Grief, 3 coats: medium yellow creme. I found the formula very watery and thin. It's still controllable, but you have to be more careful. Application was a little streaky, but not too bad for a yellow.

To Be or Not To Beagle, 1 coat over Good Grief (left): black hex and bar glitters with matte multicolored hexes. The multicolored glitters are: pale pink, light green, light blue, medium blue, light yellow, light orange, and red. It's very dense so glitter payoff is great. It applies evenly without any problems. Love!

Where's My Blanket, 1 coat over Good Grief (right): black glitter with colored hexes in light orange and pale yellow. It's less dense than To Be or Not To Beagle, but still has good glitter payoff. The consistency is great and it applies evenly.

Who Are You Calling Bossy?!?, 2 coats: black creme. The formula is great - great consistency and good pigmentation. It's not a one-coater, but I can see it becoming one with use after it thickens up a little bit. I'm just guessing though, so don't hold me to it. ^^

Verdict: The cremes for the most part, applied easily without too much trouble. They're not crazy unique, but if you need a nice black or yellow, they're good options. The highlight of this collection are the glitters. Those are definitely unique and perfect for a fun, colorful mani. :)

Availability: Peanuts by OPI and Little Peanuts mini pack can be found at Professional Salons, including Chatters, Planet Beauty and ULTA. Peanuts nail lacquers will retail for $9.50 ($11.50 CAN) each; Little Peanuts mini pack will retail for $13.95 ($17.50 CAN).

[Review+Swatch] Zoya Ultra PixieDust Fall 2014

Hi everyone! Today's collection is Zoya's Ultra PixieDust for fall 2014! In Zoya's how-to, they advised prepping with Zoya Remove+ first, and then applying 1-3 coats without base coat or top coat. I did exactly that with my swatches below. I was worried the richer colors might stain without base coat, but none of them did. Also, they were all opaque in 2 coats!

[Review+Swatch] NYC Rule The City

Hi everyone! Today I have an NYC polish to show you from their new Fashion Queen collection for fall 2014. I'm surprised that this is actually my first color polish from them. I think I have a top coat, but no colors. I'm glad I got to try them out this time, because this color is gorgeous!

Rule The City, 2 coats: dark grey base with shimmer like silver micro glitter and fine red glitter. The overall look of this combination is that of a gunmetal polish flecked with red sparkles. Particularly in the sun, the red is more subdued and glistens like rubies. It only look two coats to become opaque, and the formula was excellent.

In the shade, the red glitter becomes more noticeable. I took the above pic in my lightbox, which makes metallics and glitters look lighter. The sun pictures above are more accurate in showing the dark base.

One thing I want to mention. I noticed that the mouth of the NYC bottle has a flat edge that slants slightly inwards. I was going to take a pic, but forgot. I thought this was a nice touch, since it prevents polish from coating the outer rim and gluing the cap shut. More brands should do this!

Verdict: Overall, Rule The City is a wonderful color to wear for fall and Halloween! I don't own the others, but the Fashion Collection has five other polishes in beautiful jewel tones. At $1.99 each, they're definitely worth checking out. :)

Availability: NYC polishes are available at chain drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide.

Do you own any of the polishes from this collection? Let me know in the comments below!

[Review + Swatch] Zoya Magical Pixie - Summer 2014

Hi guys! I'm excited to share Zoya's newest Magical Pixie collection with you today. These textures are just like the ones released in spring, but with much better formulas this time. It's still a chunky texture, but the formula was perfect. Not all thick and goopy like the spring collection, but thin and easy to use.

Hi everyone! Hope all your Mondays are going well. I got to test out this new spring 2014 collection from Zoya yesterday. It's part of the PixieDust series and has a textured formulation. [Nail-Art-A-Go-Go] Day 13: Hearts

Hey guys! Heart manis are right up my alley, so I had fun doing today's challenge. Since I've free handed hearts before, I decided to do some glitter placement this time. I love the end result! I'm especially enamored by the glitters. They're a holographic disco ball!

[Reswatch] OPI When Monkeys Fly

Hi guys! Remember this polish from OPI's Oz The Great and Powerful collection? It actually got a lot of heat last year because of curling glitter. But look! Flat gold glitters! :D If you didn't send yours back, take a look at it now. You may be in for a happy surprise. ^^

This is one coat of When Monkeys Fly over Nicole by OPI Promises In The Dark. So pretty!

If you own When Monkeys Fly, let me know if your glitters uncurled too! I'm so curious, haha. :P

[Review+Swatch] China Glaze Your Present Required

It's finally the weekend! Today's look is a bit festive with this pretty glitter top coat from China Glaze's Holiglaze collection. Here's I'm wearing 2 coats of Your Present Required over Precision I'm Addicted To You. YPR is a clear-based, multi glitter top coat with colors like blue, orange, purple, green, silver, gold and white. Both the formula and glitter pay off was great, and I'm really digging the color combination in this one.

Have you tried this polish from ChG's Holiglaze collection? If you did, let me know how you wore it! :)
