Rainbow Drips Nail Art

Hi guys!  I was in the mood for some colorful nail art, so this was what I came up with.  It was inspired by those melted crayon artworks I've been seeing on Pinterest - which I still need to do!

Julep Jodie

Hi guys!  Today I have a quick swatch of one of my older Julep polishes.  I think Jodie came in my very first Julep Maven box, but I don't really remember.  On Julep, it's described as a "rosy mauve with gold shimmer."  The shimmer is very fine and more subtle than I wish it was.  I think it looks pretty in bottle, but on the nail it only adds some extra shine.  Overall, the polish was easy to apply and became opaque in two coats.  I think this is a discontinued color, since it's out of stock on Julep.  It's an okay color, but I don't think it will be missed.

What do you think?

Revlon Whimsical

This one caused quite a stir last year because of its likeness to Deborah Lippmann's Glitter In The Air.  Whimsical has a sheer, pale blue base with medium blue and pink glitter, as well as fine iridescent green glitter.  I've tried this over various light blue bases, but I never liked how it looked.  So I tried 3 coats of Whimsical over 1 coat of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu!  This gets it pretty close to the bottle look.  But the weird thing is...mine looks a little green?  Not sure if this is how it is or if something funky happened to mine.

Have you tried this polish?  What would you recommend as a good layering base?

45 NEW Walmart Exclusive Hard Candy Shades!

Hi guys!  Exciting news!  I just got this press release in the mail today announcing 45 new polishes from Hard Candy!  I was wondering when they'd be coming out with new polishes, and these do not disappoint.  Also, it seems Hard Candy is taking their prices down a dollar.  I've seen multiple brands raise their prices by a dollar this year, but not Hard Candy.  I believe they used to retail for around $5, but now the price is $3.97.  Check out which new shades will be hitting your Walmart down below!

I suggest opening up the images in new tabs to make them bigger. ^^

Milani Limited Edition Textured Creams Collection Review

Hey all!  Today I have swatches of the new limited edition texture creams from Milani!  They're so bright and fun looking, so I thought I'd give them a try. :)  They're also different from all the other "textured" polishes we've seen because they don't contain any glitter.

Zoya Pixie Dust Collection Review

Happy Friday!  Look what recently came in the mail?  It's the new Zoya collection featuring matte, sand-like textures...pixie dust in this case. :)

First off, all of these look amazing in the bottle.  I was really surprised by the silver glitter, because I didn't see it in the pictures.  I'm afraid the light box cancels out the sparkle in my pictures as well.  But these look like they have tiny shards of diamonds embedded in them.

Born Pretty Store Review: Bow & Stamping Plate

Hi guys!  I finally did it!  I did my first fairly successful stamping mani.  If you've been following me for a while, you'll know that I did one other stamping mani before.  I'm not going to link it, because it was pretty disastrous.  Anyway, I could never get the hang of it and I kind of gave up.  I decided I was doomed to forever freehand my nail art.  But then I saw this cute stamping plate from Born Pretty Store, so I decided to give it another go. :)

piCture pOlish Paradise by Liquid Jelly

Hi everyone!  Today's post is really special to me because I've been keeping it a secret since last summer!  Last year, I was chosen by piCture pOlish to be part of their blogger collaboration project.  You may have already seen some of these shades.  In fact, mine was supposed to launch together with The PolishAholic, Samarium's Swatches, Pointless Cafe, and Sahrish Adeel back in January.  Unfortunately, my shade took some time to perfect, but we finally did it!

First Impressions: Essie Nail Care Line

Hi guys!  Essie recently came out with a new and improved nail care line.  I'm pretty fortunate to have strong nails that grow relatively fast, but winter is taking its toll on my nails and cuticles.  One of the main issues I have is peeling on my left pointer and right middle nail.  Not sure why, but it's always just those two.  It may be because the sides curl more on those two nails.

I was immediately interested in these three products for my dry cuticles and peeling nails.  Here is some information on each of the products below, as well as my first impressions after using them for a week.

Friday Food and Nails #13

Hi guys!  Today I have a lovely submission from Kelsey at Polished Prescription!  Unfortunately, this will be the last FFAN post, but don't worry.  I'm thinking of starting a new sharing corner for either Saturdays or Sundays. :)  Enjoy!

"My roommate came in my room to show me this cool orange she got at the farmer's market, and of course I had to take a picture! I'm wearing OPI My Vampire is Buff with a simple rose on my ring finger."

Essie Turquoise And Caicos

Hey all!  I haven't used an Essie color in a long time, so I decided to reswatch Turquoise and Caicos.  My original "swatch" can be found here.  I didn't have as much trouble with it this time around.  This is either 4 or 5 coats.  I lost count because I was multitasking to give each coat ample time to dry.  I'm leaning towards 5 though.  It's just as streaky as ever, which is why it needed that many coats.  It's such a shame, because the color itself is lovely.  Essie, please fix the formula!

Alright, short and simple post today.  I did do some cute nail art over this, so hopefully I'll have that up by tomorrow!  It's another Youtube tutorial. :)

Until next time!

Valentine's Day Nail Art: Sequin Heart Youtube Tutorial

Hey all!

I know I promised a swatch post, but I got caught up filming and editing this tutorial!  This is a quick tutorial for the look I showed a few weeks ago.  Now that I've figured out a comfortable filming set up, I think I'll be doing these video tutorials more. :)  Are there any past looks you would like to see?

Anyway, here's the tutorial below!  Definitely send me a pic on twitter if you do this.  Hope you like it! :)

I am discontinuing FFAN due to the lack of entries. But it was fun while it lasted. Thank you to everyone who sent in pictures! :)

6 New Pretty Jelly Holos Added!

Hi everyone!  Luckily there was some sun today, so I was able to take some quick swatches of the new holographic shades! :)

You can find all of these in my Etsy store. ^^  I'll try to do a blog post with nicer swatches in the future, so keep an eye out for those.  Well, that's it for now!

Pretty Jelly Strawnana

Hey all!  Sorry I haven't been posting lately.  I've been trying to post every weekday, but I've been busy with the new Pretty Jelly colors.  Of the seven new colors I am releasing, Strawnana is the sole glitter (the rest are holos).  If this color looks familiar, it's because I was wearing it in my Vday Sequin Heart post!  It didn't have a name then, but it does now. :)

Sheer pink base with: red and white satin glitters, gold and iridescent squares, and very fine holo glitters.

I am currently selling a small quantity of this color in my Etsy shop.  I have also restocked Grape Escape and Diamond S-teal-er in both 15ml and 6ml sizes.  The 6 new holos will be released some time this week.  I'm trying to get some good pictures of them in the sun to really show off the holo.  But it's currently snowing a lot here, so the light box ones may have to do.  Either way, they will go up by this Friday. :)

Friday Food and Nails (FFAN) #11

Happy Friday everyone!  TGIF right?  This week's FFAN post is pretty short, but I hope you'll still enjoy it.  Check out this great submission by The Bubbly Brunette below. :)

"Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet gave me an intense craving for something minty, so I had to reach for some Junior Mints!"

Want to join in on the fun?  Send in your entries for next Friday (2/8)!  Submission guidelines (here).

China Glaze Avant Garden Spring 2013

Today I have 6 of the new colors from China Glaze's Spring 2013 collection: Avant Garden!  Two from the Blooming Brights set, and four from Pastel Petals.  The following four are from the Pastel set, although I'm not sure if I'd exactly consider them pastels.  They're a bit darker and brighter on the nail than in the bottle.
