Pretty Jelly Dark Magic: Holographic Flakie Multichrome

Hi everyone! Did you all celebrate Valentine's Day yesterday? I really wanted to do a girly pink mani for Vday, but I didn't feel like taking my current mani off - which is this pretty polish from my indie brand. It's a dark anti Vday purple...like my soul. ^^

Is it just me or are evil villains much more interesting than the heroines? I recently started (and finished) Once Upon A Time, and I really love all the villains. So while I'm waiting for season 5, I decided to create a dark purple reminiscent of the ominous rolling smoke clouds in the show.

It was cloudy when I took these pics, so I couldn't capture the scattered holo. :( It has a subtle shift from blue-purple to red-purple.

If you like this polish, it's currently available at my Etsy shop for $12. It's limited edition, so I only have a few quantities in stock. Also, I ship worldwide! :)

Thanks for reading!

[Pretty Jelly x Sticky Nails Collaboration] Maleficient Inspired Polish + Stencil Sets

Hi everyone! Hope you're all enjoying your Memorial Day weekend! I have some more exciting news from Pretty Jelly, so I wanted to share them with you.

I've been working behind-the-scenes with another Iona of Sticky Nails to create Maleficient inspired polish and stencil sets. You can see the stencils below, but they're super detailed and easy to work with. Iona was so wonderful to work with and so amazingly talented! I'm really excited to finally reveal these sets to you.

We created these sets to pay homage to the upcoming release of Maleficient. One of the sets is inspired by Maleficient, while the other is inspired by Princess Aurora. We named the sets after the Once Upon A Dream song, and the dark new rendition by Lana Del Rey.

The following images are courtesy of Sticky Nails.
Enlarge this pic to see all the stencil images!

The I Know You set comes with a blackened green linear holo and a sheet of stencils featuring iconic images of Maleficient like her headdress, crow, and dragon transformation. This set will be sold exclusively at Sticky Nails Etsy store.

This one's Once Upon A Dream on my nails. It's a light blue linear holo with pink sparkles reminiscent of Aurora's dress. This set also includes a sheet of whimsical stencils with images like forest animals, flowers, crowns, and dresses. Once Upon A Dream is available exclusively at the Pretty Jelly Etsy store.

Pretty Jelly Spring/Summer 2014 Collection + Lacquer Chic Exclusives!

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so quiet around here. I didn't mean to disappear without notice - my indie polish line has been keeping me busy. But I did think about you guys every day, which is kind of why I never posted a notice. I was always determined to post something the next day... it just never happened. -.- Please accept my apologies?? *puppy face*

I don't have a review for you today, but I thought I'd share what I've been working on. :)

First up is the new spring/summer 2014 collection I released! It's comprised of 10 new holographic colors that range from strong linear to more subtle holographic effects. Here are the same pics, closer up.

Petrichor is a bit off in the pic above. The one below is more color accurate, and it really shows off how strong the holo flames are. :)

If any of these interest you, you can find them in my Etsy shop for $12 each. If you're outside the US, you can purchase them at Mei Mei's Signatures, and they're coming soon to Edgy Polish as well.

I also recently got together with a new online retailer called Lacquer Chic. The grand opening is this coming Sunday, 4/20/14. I created the four colors shown above exclusively for Lacquer Chic, so they can only be purchased there. I'll try to get swatches of these up soon, so you can see how they look on the nail. :)

I'm now working on another Pretty Jelly collaboration with a fellow Etsy seller, which I can't wait to tell you about. If you like nail art, you're going to love what we have in store for you. Seriously, guys - I am so excited. Heh heh. :)

Well, that's it for now! I promise I'll resume regular posting very soon, starting with a quick swatch post this weekend.

Thanks for dropping by and enjoy your weekend!

Pretty Jelly: The Fall Collection

Representing various "falls", this collection features polishes with both linear holographic and glitter finishes.

Rabbit Hole: brown-purple base with red-violet shimmer that turns gold at extreme angles, large copper glitter, small copper-gold glitter, and sparse holographic glitter. This color is as magical as Alice's famous fall down the rabbit hole.

London Bridge: grey creme-jelly base with large gold holo glitter and small and medium gold glitter. Filled with gold shimmer and sparse blue sparkles, this color is based off a children's singing game.

Mexico City: bright red linear holographic polish. This color was inspired by one of my favorite books by Albert Camus. It takes its name from a bar located in the "last circle of hell" - Amsterdam's red light district.

House of Usher: violet linear holographic polish. This brooding purple pays homage to one of Edgar Allen Poe's chilling short stories.

Poison Envy: dark green linear holo. Representing the fall of man, this lush green holo is as tempting on the nail as it is in the bottle.

Availability: You can find all of these colors in my Etsy shop: Pretty Jelly.  Pretty Jelly polishes can also be found internationally at the following shops: MeiMei's Signatures and Edgy Polish.

NOTD: Pretty Jelly Grape Escape

The sun was out, so I decided to quickly snap some photos of my nails with my DSLR.  It definitely captured the holo much better than my point and shoot!  I plan on redoing all my swatches for this line to show the holo better.  Next time, I'll use a tripod though so that it's less shaky.  It's hard to take good photos with one hand. -_-

This is two coats.  Except one nail is one coat because I thought I did a second coat when I didn't.  I'm not telling you which one it is.  But if you spot it, that's the reason why it looks a bit more sheer. -__-

You can find Grape Escape in my Etsy shop (here) for $10.  There's 4 left until the next restock which will be in February.  I'm trying to make one to match this year's Pantone color, Emerald.  As well as a few reds and pinks for Valentine's day.

Oh, and check out these reviews by Gotham Polish and MASPOOASE. :)

You can visit my Etsy Shop for more swatches of each shade.  All of the colors are sold in 15ml and 6ml sizes ($10 and $5 respectively).  They're also 3-free and cruelty-free.  If you're interested in purchasing any of these shades, you can use code HOLIDAY10 to get 10% off your whole purchase (code expires 12/19).  Also, if you make a purchase between now and 12/16, you will automatically be entered into a drawing to win a free full size bottle of Sugar Cookie. :)

**I also added a Holiday Gift Set option to my store, which allows you to buy all four 15ml polishes with free shipping. :)

Thanks for reading!  And don't worry, I will resume regular posts tomorrow. ^^

Ozotic Scatter 915

Finish
915 is a duochrome polish with holographic shimmer flecks.  The duochrome base has some gold in it, but mainly shifts from apple green to blue and aqua.  I think the holographic flecks set this polish apart from all the other chrome polishes we've been seeing lately.  I love how glow-y looks on my nails and the holo shimmer has the tendency to catch me off guard.

Rivka Holographic: Serena

Serena, 2 coats: light blue holographic polish.  The holo is both linear and scattered.  I don't think my pictures do this polish any justice.  The holographic prism were a bit difficult to capture on camera.  It looks stronger in real life, but the pastel prisms seemed to disappear on camera.  You can see the holo effect a bit better in the pictures where my nails are at a sharper angle.  The formula was excellent and even though I wore this without top coat, I didn't get any tip wear during the two days I wore it (dishwashing was involved).

If you like Serena, check out Jenny (black/grey holo) from this collection as well! :)
