Nail Partayyy

The girls in my bible study and I had a nail party this weekend.  It was super fun, and I got to try out some new polishes.  I kept my nails pretty simple.

The only flash pic.  The rest are sunlight.
On my nails I'm wearing OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue with Funky Fingers Baby Baby Baby on my ring as an accent nail.  YGTB is a really gorgeous dark blue with indigo/brighter blue shimmer.  I'm wearing 3 coats, but 2 coats would have been sufficient.  The formula was also great.  The only minus to this polish is that it does stain your nails, so a base coat is a must.  It also has the tendency to stain your fingers blue during removal, so you have to be careful not to rub the polish into your cuticles.  Otherwise, it's a great blue worth owning in my opinion.  I've been wanting Sephora by OPI Opening Night since two summers ago (I don't know why I still didn't get it), so I was pleasantly surprised to know YGTB is a dupe!  I'll definitely pick up YGTB instead, since I get to save a dollar. :P

On my ring is the blindingly blingy Funky Fingers Baby Baby Baby.  By the way, both of these polishes were jkfaceee's.  (Please go check her out if you haven't!)  I was surprised to see Funky Finger's in her collection and found out that there IS a Five Below near my hometown.  I've never seen one around, so I think I automatically assumed there weren't any in my state.  I was wrong!  Now I know where I'll be dropping by during my winter break.

For BBB, I used 3 coats, but I noticed it becomes pretty opaque in two with a base color.  I recommend using a blue base as it will bring out the light blue in BBB.  My pictures make it look like it's not completely opaque, but in person I couldn't tell because it was SO sparkly.  It also looks gritty, but it wasn't that bad with 2 coats of Seche Vite.

And here's a pic of all our nails together. :)
I did some florals for two of the girls, including jkfaceee.  She's the one wearing a ring in the picture. ^^

In other news, I ripped my right thumb nail while pulling hefting my elephantine Shakespeare textbook out of my backpack.  It slipped out of my hands and then...ouch.  >.<  I'm not a fan of nail patches, so I just cut and filed it to a nub.  Now I'm patiently waiting for it to grow back.  What do you do when you break a nail?

And...this weekend went by too fast. T_T  Happy....Monday...
