The bottle I'm holding here is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Clear mixed with the red green color morphing pigment I bought from More Nail Polish. The clear polish is 9.17ml and I mixed in a little less than 1/4 of a gram of the powder. The powder tends to settle to the bottom, so I may get a suspension base later on. For now, I just shake it up before using it. Although there were some bubbles in the bottle, it didn't bubble on my nails. I used 2 coats of the red green franken over 2 coats of Sinful Colors Daddy's Girl and finished off with Seche Vite.
As you can see there is a strong multichrome. The strength depends on your pigment to polish ratio. The one I made is pretty strong, especially with 2 coats. In the process of changing from red to green, you can spot orange and yellow, and depending on your base you may spot other colors. For my particular base, you can see the purple/pink glass flecks from Daddy's Girl peek through the shimmer.
The final look is breathtaking. There is so much depth and shine, like glass. It almost looks as if I'm wearing one of those cool nail polish rings on my nails! I've been wearing this combo for 3 days now, and even though there's a small chip on one finger, I still don't want to take it off! This has never happened to me before. o_o
Overall, I recommend owning these pigments if you're into duo/multichromes! I think they were worth every penny. You can buy them from Cathy by clicking here.
I also swatched this over black, so I will show you how that looks as well. For now, here are some more pics of this gorgeous combo! Feel free to click on them for a super close up. ^__^
All the pictures shown up to this point were taken in artificial lighting.
The following pictures were taken in sunlight.
I also mattified this look and left a shiny nail on the left for comparison. The matte look is pretty in its own right, but pales in comparison to the glossy look. After taking this pic, I made those nails shiny again. :P
What do you think of the color changing pigments and this layering combination? Let me know if you have any layering requests for this red green topcoat!
