Is it a dupe? No, obviously not. The finish is completely different. Is it a gorgeous layering reminiscent of the colors seen in Clarins 230? Yes! At least I think so from the swatches I've seen of it so far. I've never seen it in person, so I wouldn't know 100%. T_T It is also a bit more red toned and shimmery in person, which is why it reminds me of the famed "unicorn pee." Even if it's not the same, I think this layering is really gorgeous in its own right. So I definitely recommend this layering combination, because you need to see it in person! My pictures really don't do it any justice.
Here's what I did. I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Daddy's Girl. (I recommend 3.) Then 2 coats of Orly Space Cadet. Of course you can use more, but I still wanted the pink flecks in Daddy's Girl to show through. Finally, I added one coat of Maybelline Colorama top coat in Sonic Sunset (flakies).
Sorry about my less than stellar application and tip wear. The first three are in direct sunlight, and the rest are in the shade. The multichrome and flakies show up a lot better in the shade and is quite mesmerizing. :)
This one is in direct sunlight too |

This one shows the green the best, but there is also this rich, bright jungle green in there that I had a hard time capturing. I also realize the grass is reflecting off the bottle in this pic, which might be factoring into the green on the nail. But that color green can really be seen on the nail. ^^
Overall, I can't stop staring. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments! :)

P.S. I went short! Now that we're approaching fall/winter (or at least in the polish world), I've decided shorter nails would look much better with the darker colors. I'm going to try to maintain them at this length and get a new file. My nails actually grow kind of fast. Maybe because it's summer? ;P Anyway, this means I'll be posting up nail art more suitable for short nails now. :)
Whoa, STUNNING. And it's making me think, I have some similar polishes I could pair to get this, with Orly Space Cadet! Must. Experiment. *swoon*

ReplyDeleteThank you Crystal! Like Babysquirrel77 said, Hard Candy Beetle is a dupe, so if you're having a hard time finding Space Cadet, definitely grab that one. :) If they still have Space Cadet around at your Ulta, I think it's a better buy with the $3.50 off a $10 purchase coupon. I know Ulta sent them out recently. ^^
