Trixie of Nailfiled wanted to see Simply Smash-ing from my latest nail packages. So here it is!
Simply Smash-ing is one of the first of many Serena Williams sets. Here I'm wearing 3 coats, but in the sunlight I noticed it wasn't as opaque. So 4 coats may be better. Simply Smash-ing is a yellow green metallic foil, more chartreuse than gold. I also noticed some sparse orange shimmer as well. Overall, the color reminds me of tennis balls. This isn't a color I'd normally go for, but once I stepped into the sunlight, I ended up liking it. It's very sparkly and glittery and doesn't look bad on me. :)
Since this was paired with a black shatter, I did that as well. I actually think they make a nice pairing. The black shatter really makes Simply Smash-ing pop. Now if only black shatter had a better formula. There were literally clumps of polish stuck around the bottle neck from wiping. It was also really gloopy when I opened it, and I haven't used it much. I added a bit of thinner to it, and it seemed to be okay.
What do you think? Too flashy or just right?

Wow, I die for this polish. I really love it!
ReplyDeletethis looks great on you. The color really goes well on your skin tone
ReplyDeleteWow! How wonderful is that! I love the combination with the black shatter!
ReplyDeletei have it, but i heard that it turns nails yellow... haven't noticed that from the once or twice i wore it though... nonetheless i suppose that was among the first few OPI colours that i bought and i love it!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I read this post!! I have been dying to know whether putting thinner in crackles/shatters is okay, and I guess it is! Thank you so much!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis would look AMAZING with a dark/hunter green crackle!
ReplyDeleteThis is sooo beautiful!! What a gorgeous colour and shimmer!! It goes perfectly well with this black shatter;D I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI have never liked Simply Smash-ing until I saw your pictures. It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you for showing this! I love the color on you! And I've always loved the black shatter. We experienced the same problem, but with me it's silver shatter instead. I still can't get enough of shatter/crackles! what abt you?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I thought it wouldn't, but surprisingly it looked okay. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
ReplyDeleteI've swatched my silver shatter on a couple nails and haven't had as much problems as I did with the black. Hopefully it's better than the black when I use it for a full mani. *fingers crossed* I don't own many shatters/crackles, so I'm all for it. ^^
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
ReplyDeleteOh you should get it if you haven't. I think it would look lovely on you. :)
ReplyDeleteOh that does sound interesting. I love the idea of a dark/hunter green crackle in general! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it! ^^
