Spring Florals & Pearls

I've been testing out the pearls, rhinestones, and filmos I ordered lately.  I wanted to check the quality and durability of them before I did my review.  I've given most of them a try, so the collective review will be up soon. :)  In the meantime, here's a floral mani I did with some of the white pearls.

This is the first version I did with a pink accent finger, which I didn't love.  So I ended up redoing that finger, because I didn't feel it completed the mani.

The final look:

What I used:
Base: China Glaze Kinetic Candy
Flowers: OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! / Sinful Colors Zeus / Wet n Wild French White / Revlon Rainforest
Polka dots: Wet n Wild French White
 White Baby Half Pearls

What do you think?  I'm really into floral these days, and I did end up getting that Mossimo floral backpack!  I'll show you it in another post once I take a pic of it. ^^

Almost the weekend!

Bunny Nail Art

bunny_01 With Easter coming up, I thought I'd show you some Easter/spring inspired nails during this week.  My roommate wanted me to do her nails with bunnies on them, so this is the design I came up with.  I recently got a bunch of nail art wheels, so I used pink, white, and blue pearls on the lace nails.  I'll do a separate review of those wheels as a collection soon. :)

For this look I used:
Wet n Wild French White (bunny & polka dots)
OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! (pink base)
Milani white nail art polish (lace)
Sinful Colors Black on Black (eyes)
Sinful Colors Tutu (pink ears)

Oh and happy April Fools day!  Haha, I didn't join in on the fooling, but there have been some crazy new nail art trends popping up as April Fools jokes.  I think the craziest one I saw involved wearing crawfish heads as nail art.  Have you seen any of these? :P

Blooood

Possibly sensing that Halloween is drawing near, one of my new Wet n Wild Coloricon polishes decided to take a high dive from my hands...

Gray's Anatomy loves black

I've already done a review of Wet n Wild's Gray's Anatomy, but who knew it looked amazing over black?  This is one coat of Gray's over two coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black.

Lovely, yes?  Layering it over black made the colors really pop and strengthened the duochrome effect.  Plus, only 1 coat!

Yummy olive green :)

duochrome!

It's almost Easter!  Sorry this is kinda dark for Easter.  I have pics of my Easter mani ready, so I'll show you guys that tomorrow.  :)

Until then, Happy Easter!  And goodnight.

Sally Hansen - Gray by Gray

As soon as I saw this one, I knew I had to get it.  I've been looking for a blue-gray and this is definitely a blue-gray.  It was also the only one left, so I snatched it up quick.  The formula was okay and color was extremely pigmented.  I think it could've been a one coater, but I usually do at least two, so that's what I did.  I'm not a fan of the brush however, which is flat instead of being round.  I didn't like the cut of the brush either.  As you can see by my pictures, I couldn't form nice rounded edges near my cuticles.  I need a clean-up brush!

I added a coat of Wet n Wild's Party of Five Glitters to add some pizazz.

Looks like electricity running down my nail :P

Flash pic: To show you the blue side of this blue-gray.

Bleck... don't mind my pointer finger... that one kept giving me trouble.  Just one of those days I guess. :/

What do you think?  Do you have a favorite blue-gray?

Wet n Wild - Gray's Anatomy

Hope everyone's Saturday is going well.  This is my first post for today, and I'll be posting another one before the day ends.

Here's Wet n Wild's Gray's Anatomy.  It's a silvery duochrome of predominantly purple and green, but also blue.  It's a bit sheer, so I used 3 coats for these swatches.  Application was pretty good and dry time was fast.  It's fastdry, so it should be... right?  I assess dry time by if the polish is dry enough to allow me to put on a second coat after finishing my first coat on the other hand.  I didn't have any problems, so dry time is at least normal.

Apparently this a dupe for Deborah Lippman's Wicked Game.  I don't own Wicked Game so I can't do a comparison, but Scrangie did one and you can see it here.  The duochrome effect is most visible under low light, but you're nails will shift from purple to green depending on the angle the light hits it.  Overall, I think this is a nice polish, and a much cheaper alternative if you don't want to spend $16-18 on Wicked Game.

If you didn't know, Imperfectly Painted is holding a 1 year blog-o-versary giveaway.  There are 3 prize sets, so go enter!
You can also win a set of 7 BYS Colour Change laquers by entering You've Got Nail's giveaway.

Well, that's it for now.
Don't forget to check back later for the second post. :)
